Christopher Nolan Talks Batman 3

Director Christopher Nolan finally started talking about a Batman 3 movie. In his interview with Geoff Boucher of the LA Times, he speaks about the success of the second film, what project he wants to do next, and whether or not he's on board for part three of the Batman franchise.

Nolan seems interested in doing a third Batman film, but is wary of the record most part 3 films have in any given franchise. He has neither promised to direct the third film nor sworn it off, which means we're pretty much back to the drawing board. But it's looking like Nolan is finally going to start opening up to the press about what he's got in store for audiences next. On whether or not he'll direct the third Batman he states, "What’s the story? Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name?"

Don't give up hope yet, folks.
