Cool Opening Titles: The Kingdom

image

Gas prices are $4.29 a gallon in Southern California. That’s no joke. In light of this fact, this week’s cool opening title clip is for, The Kingdom, created by the folks at PIC Agency. This cool opening title sequence gives us a condensed history lesson on The United States relationship with Saudi Arabia.

The opening really sets the tone for the film providing social commentary under the guise of a shoot-em up Hollywood action film. The opening titles definitely grabbed my attention and built up a strong anticipation for what was to come. The movie wasn’t preachy and provided some thrilling action sequences, ultimately delivering a solid action thriller. Produced by Michael Mann and directed by Peter Berg (next directing Hancock), The Kingdom grossed $86 million in box office earnings worldwide.
