Fight Night Live Results!

Houston Alexander vs. Eric Schaefer

Houston comes out and lands a huge right about thirty seconds into the first round, at the half way point of the first Schaefer takes down Houston working him into side position Schaefer moves for the guillotine and then takes the full mount and begins reigning blows down on Houston as he looks to finish the fight in the first round but Houston begins work his way out of the mount position for a moment but Schaefer moves to the side and locks in a strong side choke that forces Houston to tap with just ten seconds left in the first round.

 

Alan Belcher vs Ed Herman

Both fighters come out aggressive as Herman looks for the clinch and begins throwing knees before working their way back to the center of the octagon. Herman looks to end the fight early with some huge overhand rights but fails to land a clean shot before Belcher forces him up against the cage. Belcher and Herman make their way to the ground and Herman takes top position and begins to work himself into the side mount on Belcher but Belcher makes it back to his feet before Herman picks him up and forces him back to the ground but can do little damage before the end of the round.

To start the second round both fighters come out swinging again as they try to set one another up for a knockout blow. Belcher comes out landing solid jabs and begins to move ahead on points for the second round. Neither man appears that they want this fight to go to the ground as they continue to trade blows. Belcher lands a huge leg kick that is countered by a nice right hand by Belcher. Herman finally gets a takedown with two minutes to go in the round and makes his way into half guard but can do little damage before they make it back to their feet to finish off the round.

To begin the third and final round both men knew that they needed to put everything on the line as it could have gone either way. Herman shoots for a takedown but Belcher stuffs the takedown and they being trading blows again. Belcher contunes to land his Jab but Herman is still looking for his knockout blow. Belcher forces Herman against the cage as he looks to do some dirty boxing and wear down his opponent. At the halfway point of the third round both fighters look extremely tired and Herman shoots in for a single leg takedown that Belcher somehow finds a way to stop. Herman doesn’t give up the leg and eventually secures the takedown and works his way into side mount. Belcher has not given up and he makes his way back to his feet and the two fighters continue to throw jabs but Herman forces Belcher up against the cage and secure another takedown and moves into the mount position as he looks to finish the fight but the bell sounds and the judges award a split decision victory  to Alan Belcher due to his superior striking throughout the match.

 

 

Clay Guida vs Mac Danzig

Both fighters make their way to the center of the octagon and trade some light jabs but nothing that does much damage. They trade a couple leg kicks and Danzig continues to throw jabs as Guida shoots in for his first takedown attempt of the night but Mac stuffs it and forces Guida against the fence. Guida works his way back to the center of the octagon but Guida wastes no time as he shoots in for another takedown and this time secures it but Mac makes his way back to his feet only to have Guida pick him up and slam him to the ground with some nice power. Danzig find his way back to standing position and Guida picks him up and slams him again but this time Danzig holds onto his guillotine choke forcing Guida to fight his way out as he does little damage on the ground to Danzig.

Guida comes out to start the second and lands a solid leg kick followed by some tight jabs, Guida looks fresh in the second and chases Danzig up against the cage and secure yet another takedown. Danzig however makes his way back to his feet and the two continue trading jabs. Danzig continues looking for an opening but Guida’s takedowns are extremely tough to defend and he forces Danzig up against the cage but Mac brings the fight back to a standing position in the center of the octagon. With a minute left in the round Danzig lands some solid shots including a knee to stomach on Guida but Clay slams Danzig down with a side suplex and rides out the round in Mac’s half guard.

Still any mans fight as the third round starts and Guida lands a solid leg kick but Danzig locks Guida into choke but Clay refuses to let go of his legs as he looks for another slam. The two begin trading blows up against the cage and Mac grabs hold of Guida to slam him to the ground but Clay does not give up and reverses the hold and lands a couple solid knees to the body before eventually forcing Mac to the ground. Clay moves to Danzig’s back and tries to get the hooks in for a choke but Danzig defends it well. Guida continues to control the position forcing Mac back to the ground every time he tries to make his way back to his feet.  The fight ends with Guida in top position as he controlled almost the entire round. Clay Guida with his control of the fight locks in a unanimous decision victory.

 

 

Nate Diaz vs Josh Neer

Neer throws a solid leg kick to start the fight and pushes Nate up against the fence before slamming him to the ground and looks to sink in a side choke.  Nate tries to keep Neer close but Neer picks him up and slams Diaz back to the ground as he looks to control the fight. Diaz looks for a knee bar attempt but Neer stuffs it and they lock up against the cage. Diaz lands a solid knee and the two begin to trade punches in the center of the octagon. Diaz unloads with some solid cross-body combos but Neer continues to throw in response to everything that Diaz has. Diaz starts to work his reach and executes a beautiful judo throw to takedown and moves into top position and Nate lands a solid standing punch before making his way back into Neer’s guard and then working his way to Neer’s back but is unable to lock choke before the round ends.

Neer starts the second round by forcing Diaz against the fence and locks the takedown but Diaz slips out of the hold and reverses the takedown and looks for another knee bar. Diaz continues to work for submission attempts but Neer makes his way to his feet and takes Nate’s back as he looks for the rear naked choke. Diaz somehow makes his way out of the choke but is still on his back as he looks for the butterfly guard, but Neer lands some solid shots from the top position. A solid standing leg stomp from Neer and a huge elbow do some decent damage but Diaz forces his way back to the feet and the two begin trading blows up against the cage. The round ends with each fighter leaving most of their energy in the octagon.

Diaz comes out fired up for the third and begins throwing hooks as Neer lands a solid kick to the stomach. They lock up against the cage as Diaz lock in the double leg takedown and makes his way into top position as he looks for another submission attempt. Diaz lands some solid standing shots but moves back to the mat into top position. Diaz takes Neer’s back and looks to sink the hooks in but reverses into a mount position where he begins to land some solid shots from the top position. Neer hangs tough looking for arm bar attempts from the bottom. Diaz moves for an arm bar but Neer makes his way back to his feet as each man refuses to let go of their hold but Diaz with a huge judo throw late in the fight might be enough to secure the win. With solid submission attempts and controlling most of the fight from top position Nate Diaz secures a split decision win.
