Have we no shame? Letting this man lie over and over when it costs lives and people's wellbeing and not taking action to stop him is a disgrace. Where was congress when he went to war, or were they cut out of the constitution. How many times did he say he was on his ranch and did not know the extent of Katrina's damage.

Thank you for saying that, mariloucrg! I am so sick & tired of no one standing up for what I "thought" the USA was all about! I am from NOLA (actually St. Tammany Parish). I keep telling everyone that the entire area is STILL really messed up, & nothing is being done at all to rectify it. The whole area has been forever ethnically & socially cleansed, thanks to Dubya & Co.! NOLA will not be the same without the residents, & they have nothing to go back to-at all, and no compensation, etc. Katrina did not cause the massive devastation & destruction. The surge afterwards did (oh, & shitty levees). Sadly, the root causes of this horror lie ENTIRELY on the hands/heads of those that hold offices in our own govt-officials that we pay a whole lot of our money to, by the way! The government's most important task at all times is to do what citizend cannot do on their own, like, hmmm, build roads, protect us,etc., etc. Oh, & DISASTER RELIEF! They are our employees, right? Look people, if they were working at Burger King, they would have been fired long ago!! Think about it, because something like "Katrina" could happen anywhere..even in your home town. Walk a mile in another's shoes.....

I think this biased little video does it's best to paint GW Bush as the only person who was to blame at Katrina's dammage. I have a question, for you who think this, Who could have done more, the mayor who was right there, with all of the city resources, buses (that wound up underwater) for example, or a president who is a long way away? As for prepaired, there was a FEMA drill that had just such a scenario played out. The recomendations were made ahead of time, and were fully known to mayor Ray Nagen. Of course, he is a good democrat so no blame will fall on his shoulders, nor on the govenor of the state, who is also a demorcat and would otherwise have to explain why she failed so badly. No, to find the guilty party, don't blame the people who failed to plan, evacuate, or follow preplanned steps, just find the nearest republican to the problem. As for the area still being a mess, of that I have no doubt, if the people there re-elected Ray then they will not see much progress.

I definitely don't only blame Bush, but come on! What must it take for Republicans to admint they made a bad choice. What will it take to admit that we have a president who has no idea in hell of what he is doing. Its so blatent! He's making Republicans look so stupid. You are blind and deaf if you cannot see just how clueless he is. This type of disregard for human life is NOT what we are supposed to stand for. When will we take control back from the puppetmasters behind Bush?

Putting the blame on the President for this is like saying it's the fault of your uncle who lives three states away, that your son took out the family truckster and crashed it after being at a drinking party. It's not his parents responsibility even though he lives with them, it's the uncles fault. Who are the Mayor and Governor? What are they in charge of? trchaves has excellent points.

It is never his fault is it? Not the fact that FEMA (and its funding) was mutated to become a DOD resource, not the fact that our infrastructure that has been built with American hands has been rotting out from under us, not the fact that our horrible foreign policy has us in 2 Ball Busting wars (and counting). Not his fault! Of course not. It is the fault of the people who voted the #@#$#@ in... AGAIN!

trchaves GET a LIFE or atleast, do some HISTORY reading.

When they say "the Buck Stops here" they USE to mean, the Problem ends HERE, Now they really mean "All the BUCKS ($) stops here, and then goes directly into My Bank Account!

Being Pres. means You Take Responsability, for the kids you send to die in YOUR own personal war, or the people you leave behind because "The Ranch Vacation" is more important. (more like, it's a better HIDE-OUT! for FOOL!)

Here it is close to 2 years later and you have to wonder if the idiots in the previous posts are still defending the nightmare from hell known as Geo. Bush. It seems that even the real stupid ones have caught on that Geo. basically doesn't give a shit about you unless you are rich - your skin color doesn't matter if you are in the way of a corporate donation. Your kids can develop autism from exposure to thimerosol - don't concern him - he's not going to stop its manufacture. Your job can be shipped out of the country - doesn't mean a goddamned thing to him.

He is the leader of this country, and in a situation like this, where there was so much suffering and devastation, yes, he should have taken the lead, he should have been the one to cut through the red tape and get help down there fast and NOW. But it didn't concern him - after all, it was just a bunch of *iggers, right? I mean, come on, the first thing he did when he got in office was try to strike down affirmative action at U of MI. Ha ha, and then you had Condi, saying she didn't believe in affirmative action - yeah right, Condi, like Harvard would have had your black ass on campus as anything but a toilet scrubber without it. What a bunch of worthless human beings this bunch are.
