awesome to see old whisky-throat live in action. not everyones cup of tea, but truely one of the last original musicians left in the world, still on great form. great choice of song too.

I've always wondered what this guy's voice was like as a little kid.

It just goes to show. Take all your aural exciters, your compressor/limiters, your impulse reverbs, your 24bit 96khz SPDIF interface and strip it all down to a double-bass, an electric guitar and amp, and 2 guys with more soul and feeling than all the corporate f**k whores in the music/film "industry. Beautiful moment....

Saw this guy perform live one night with Leon Redbone, each doing their own thing and I would drive to the far corners to see him anytime. Authentic, rich, deep with soul and never sold out. Thank you John for sharing.

I saw Tom with Leon Redbone, too! Must have been 1979 or so? One of the best shows I've ever experienced. Waits is exquisite in his originality and depth. I wish he would come back to Madison, WI!
