Well it won't be long until some loud mouth starts bashing Mr. Frankin. I'm so tired of this country being divided. Don't we all just want basically the same things. To be healthy and happy? Have the opportunity to work hard and provide for ourselves and or our family's? Good luck Al I'm sure you would make a great Senator.

Grassive: When you folks in Minnesota idiotically elected Jesse Ventura governor, you were only hurting yourselves with your silliness. Sadly, Franken is seeking a federal office; his presence in the U.S. Senate will affect the rest of the population, many of whom don't share your belief believe that fame automatically qualifies someone to craft policies that affect millions of people.

What an ass. He is not a progressive, he is an ultra liberal and his world view will ruin freedom and our country. Let's let the government pay for everything. What entity has the government improved rather than wrecked? Franken will redistribute wealth and institute government health care. We can have it as good as Canada.

Hey Al, do you give all of your money to the Government to invest for you? I bet not. Is there anything that the massive governmental waste machine can do better than even a half-wit individual?

I agree with nagsheadnights. I don't want to fight, I just want to live my life with my family, without the bankrupt interference of the Feds. Ron Paul is closer to Al Franken than Dubya & Co. is to any true conservative. Foreign wars, deficit spending, massive government- These are the legacy of the right wing, not conservativism. And all I hear in rebuttal are ad hominem attacks, like "what a retard". Politics as usual doesn't hit it anymore. There are millions of us who are no longer listening to the two parties. Progressives, Libertarians and others are not going to accept this divide and conquer in government any more.

It's unfair to characterize Al Franken as a comedian. He has written a very large number of straightforward political books, and has impressed Harvard enough that they lent him political science students to work on his political research team.
