Description: It's a long way from the stylized rap duels of 8 Mile to the sun-blasted streets of L.A., but it's a trip you'll want to take if you're interested in keeping it real. Yes, we said keepin' it real. But in this case it really means something. Video director Darren Doane (Deftones, Blink 182, Jimmy Eats World) shifts gears here to document the thro'downs at the Green Club in Venice, CA and it makes for a nitty-gritty, street-level, hip-hop DVD. Doing it for the love of the game and the distant dream of fame, these unknown L.A. battle-rappers go mano a mano on the mike. But with the mad improv skillz they're flashing here, some of them won't be unknown for long. (less)
