An independent science-fiction short film by Austrian filmmaker Markus Light. Set in the distant year 3050, it explores the traces of civilization, a world shaped by the ocean, and the question of what humanity leaves behind.
Workflow & Recipe
3050 was developed through a scene-by-scene filmmaking process, using AI to create the visuals and DaVinci Resolve for editing.
The focus was on cinematic composition, character continuity, believable movement, and a consistent atmosphere. Shots were selected and assembled to serve the story, balancing the futuristic city with storm-battered environments and the remains of an earlier civilization.
The ocean plays a central role in the film’s mood and worldbuilding. The guiding question was: What remains of civilization in the distant future?
