This AI-assisted science-fiction video introduces a young Asian couple who are both absorbed in reading *Psi Secrets*, a novel by More Marian. Each holds a separate copy, creating an unusual visual motif throughout their shared experience.

The couple reads in three contrasting settings: while wearing hiking clothes on a mountain summit, while riding their bicycles, and together in bed before sleep. As they read passages from the novel, the mood shifts from curiosity to fear and concern.

The excerpts reveal a disturbing possible future for Kansas City, set thirty years ahead, where the city is buried beneath vast amounts of dust. The video also introduces HPACK, an intelligent protective device with a breathing-mask function, connecting the couple’s everyday experience of reading to the novel’s imagined future technologies.

By combining intimate moments with surreal and unsettling futuristic imagery, the video gradually reveals the mysteries of *Psi Secrets* without telling the entire story.

The production combines AI-assisted visual creation with human creative direction, scene selection, and editing.

Part of **Vidvel — Experience a Novel Through Video**, an ongoing storytelling project that allows a novel’s fictional world to unfold through connected videos.
